Red Meat Institute for Transformation and Enterprise Development (RMITED)
OUR VISION:
To foster stakeholder engagement in the Red Meat Industry towards inclusive growth through the transfer of knowledge
We are a non-profit organisation that drives the transformation initiatives on behalf of the Red Meat Industry Cluster. Our objective is to engage with as many industry partners as possible to ensure that transformation activities and skill development in the red meat sector is aligned.
The new Red Meat Industry Sector's strategy towards 2030 identified the need for an organisation to deliver services across the entire primary value chain. Thus the Red Meat Industry Services (RMIS) was established focusing on four pillars: animal and public health; inclusive growth; competitiveness and sustainability as well as market access. The RMITED is responsible for the realisation of inclusive growth.
Skill Development Programmes
Our skills development programmes are all based on AgriSeta unit standards and represent various National Qualifications Framework (NQF) levels (nationally recognised and internationally comparable training standards). These training courses combines theory and practice which is presented on-farm.
Management Training
The RMI TED develops and provides management programmes, based on a gap analysis and industry needs, to new developing entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector.
The RMITED is an AgriSETA accredited training institution and offer over 17 different courses which we present throughout South Africa. These programmes can be adjusted to meet the needs of the farmers attending the training. We also engage in farmer's days, conduct personal farm visits, host regular webinars and take on any additional projects that help farmers to thrive.
